| Although a ‘coloured’ diamond may seem less significant than a ‘colourless’ diamond don’t be fooled when it comes to fancies! Diamonds that fall after the ‘N’ colour grading are referred to as fancies or coloured Diamonds. Within the category of Fancies an assortment of vibrant colours are available. Breathtaking Champagne, Cognac, Pink, and Yellow Diamonds are truly unique and unforgettable. Each Fancy Diamond is extremely rare and may be even higher in value than a ‘Grade D’ Diamond. Environmental elements trigger the difference between a Fancy and a Colourless Diamond. They become coloured due to the presence of certain elements which are introduced by nature, during their formation; e.g. nitrogen, boron or in the case of pink diamonds the twisting of the atoms matrix. Each coloured diamond is different not only because of its natural body colour but also because of the way it is shaped and finally polished. Most fancy colour diamonds are cut into cushion or radiant shaped forms, which best bring out the depth of hue. |
